Our class enjoyed preparing this beautiful Tevet Bulletin board as we learned about the significance of this month in connection to our beloved Bet Hamikdash. We learned about Asara Btevet and discussed what we can do to rebuild the 3rd and final Bet Hamikdash. 4G had so many great questions about the subject of Moshiach so we dedicated an entire lesson to learn all about it. We discussed what the time of Moshiach will be like, why we want it and what we have to do to get there. I am so proud of 4G and their love for learning.

We reviewed our Ivrit Guf unit by making fun balloon faces. Students reviewed the hebrew words for different body parts as they attached it to their balloon face.
I am proud to announce our 3 outstanding Students for the month of Cheshvan:
Congratulations to Eva, Avital I, and Elizabeth A I am SO proud of our 4th graders for completing their very first Ivrit compositions! We worked together and came out with beautiful pieces describing our families and what we love about them. Implementing our Hebrew vocabulary as well as several skills we have been focusing on the past few months has made this project a great experience! Skills like; Yachid/Rabim, Zachar Nekeiva, Shem Tohar and Shem Etzem came to life as our girls used the skills they've been practicing to craft their stories. Check out their work on our hallway Bulletin the next time you stop by!
Congratulations to Frida upon winning the worldwide Tzivot hashem contest Raffle where Jewish children from all over the world were entered in for doing their Holiday Missions. We are so excited for you Frida!
In honor of the day that Rachel Immeinu Passed away, we got to watch a virtual tour of her resting place and learned all about why Rachel is not buried with the rest of our ancestors. We talked about Rachel's life and the special sacrifices she made for the Jewish people, which is why we call her 'Mama Rachel' 'Mother Rachel' - she gets the title because she gave up being buried with her family for the sake of the Jewish people.
We made beautiful projects of Kever Rachel in honor of this day. Learning about the holidays are fun because we get to review them with Holiday Centers! Centers is a time where we get to review/learn new information independently with fun games and activities we can do on our own. Rotating so that each group gets to do all the activities adds to the fun!
Morah Glick brought a special guest on Chol Hamoed Sukkot - her sister Fraida! Fraida plays guitar and made learning sukkot and Simchat Torah songs even more fun! We sang and played games all to the lovely sound of Fraida's Music!
After Rosh Hashana we went on a special field trip to say Tashlich together. After learning about how we get rid of our Aveirot when we do Tashlich it a special and needless to say, fun experience!
Our year is off to a great start! after a busy month of Holidays and getting settled into new routines and learning habits Kita daled is off to a great year.
We have been rigorously reviewing prerequisite skills for Chumash, like; Techiliot, Sofiot, otiot eitan, Shem etzem, poal..... and can't wait to open up our Chumashim very soon. This year we will be learning Prashat Lech Lecha and after learning the parsha in brief this past week our students are intrigued and excited to learn the stories and life lessons this parsha has to teach us from inside the torah text. I am proud of their progress in their skills review and drill. It is amazing to see our 4th grade students gaining valuable skills that are helping them be independent and autonomous learners. We have also began our first unit in Ivrit and are enoying the individualized level our school provides so that every student is challenged and supported to their needs. Ivrit and Chumash often intertwine and each subject helps us learn the other better. In 4th grade all the amazing knowledge that's been planted finally blooms and we see amazing lightbulbs flashing as our students connect what they've learned on a practicle level and can independently understand chumash and Ivrit and the peices of what makes up a word. |
