Kita Bet got to review everything we learned about Pesach with our fun and yummy Model Seder. Using our very own decorated Seder plates and our beautifully colored and crafted Haggadas Kita bet got to experience a practice Seder and prepare for what would come in just a few days. With the real Seder foods, complete with a beautiful table cloth and goblet each student really felt that the Seder is a special time. We learned that we should invite guests to our Seder and so Kita bet decided to invite our principal as our guest at our model Seder. Mrs. Zvulonov came to our seder in time to find the Afikoman and we got to play hot and cold until she was able to find the afikoman. Kita Bet truly enjoyed singing the seder songs and reviewing the pesach steps with this fun and yummy Model Seder.

After learning about Bedikat Chametz - The Chamentz treasure hunt we do the night before the seder Kita Bet got to do their very own search in our classroom! With a candle, feather, wooden spoon, paper bag and 10 peices of Chametz Kita Bet made sure our cassroom was clean from Chametz and practiced doing the real steps they will get to do on Bedikat Chametz night.
Kita Bet enjoyed a fun trip to the Matza Bakery learning hands on how Matza is made. We learned that flower and water mixed together for more then 18 minutes becomes Chametz and so the whole process from start to finish must be less then that. We also learned about the best kind of Matza to eat is Shmura Matza and how it is made. Every step is carefully watched and handmade. We got to make our very own Shmura Matza from squeezing the seeds out of the wheat stalk to create flower, to rolling those matzas thin, Kita Bet got a fun hands on learning experience at the Matza Bakery.
As we continue to learn Chumash Beraishit, Kita bet is advancing their Chumash skills with a focus on Shorashim. Every so often Kita Bet is introduced to a new Shoresh - a root word that comes up a lot, and it is impressed upon them that words are families. Kita Bet learns to make connections between words and their root. These skills help our students gain a better understanding of the words from the Torah we read daily, as well as the autonomy to understand new words, as they build on the words they already know. Congratulations Illana, Eliot (not shown in picture) and Rebecca for all your hard work! Kita Bet is so proud of you!
